Veteran sports Journalist, Michael Oti Adjei has expressed his disappointment over the actions of Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, on the night of the just ended VGMA. According to Adjei, the musician has let his fans down, including him.
Stonebwoy pulled a gun at the just ended VGMA when Shatta Wale who is his arch rival stormed the stage when he (Stonebwoy) was announced as winner of the Reggae/Dancehall artiste.
Although Stonebwoy has apologized for his actions, Michael Oti indicates that Stonebwoy has disappointed people who believed in him.
In a tweet, Adjei mentioned that he has read his apology but still believes that pulling a gun in an auditorium was needless and should not be condoned just because he’s a fan of Stonebwoy.
His tweet read “I have as one of his biggest fan. You can be a fan and be critical. Yesterday was a massive letdown for everyone who has grown to love Stone for everything he stands for. Part of loving him is letting him understand nothing can explain pulling a gun in that auditorium.
In addressing his (Stonebwoy’s press statement he noted that the statement was not an unreserved apology.
He said “Not when he still tries to justify those actions. Pulling out the gun in that auditorium with all those people was reckless. His statements must reflect that otherwise this is a PR exercise in futility”.
