The governing council of the University of Education-Winneba are scheduled to tour the campus today to assess the extend of damage following students’ demonstration last week.
The Council will then hold a press conference to address the media on the impasse after a crunch meeting.
Meanwhile, one of the suspended lecturers at the University of Education-Winneba Dr. Emmanuel Sarpong has said he has not be recalled back to post, contrary to claims in the media.
Media reports suggest all lecturers who were either sacked or suspended by the embattled Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Afful-Broni have been reinstated as part of a peace accord following the tensions that have engulfed the school since Monday.
An impasse between the VC and some of his lecturers and the member of parliament for the Efutu constituency – where the university is sited- resulted in a chaotic demonstration on campus on Wednesday by students leading to the destruction of several school properties.
The students contend some of their most efficient lecturers have been victimized by the Vice Chancellor as he seeks to asset his authority over the school.
