The student body and alumni of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) are to embark on a demonstration against the Vice-Chancellor of the school, Rev Father Prof Afful-Broni for the rate at which he is dismissing lecturers.

The demonstration, dubbed: ‘Operation bring back our lecturers’, will come off on Monday, 18 March 2019.

It will begin from the Simpa Roundabout to the South Campus in Winneba.

The organisers have encouraged all the students and alumni to clad themselves in red attire for the protest march.

Prof Afful-Broni has allegedly sacked 12 lecturers since he was sworn in as V-C of the university by President Akufo-Addo in 2018.

The latest is the dismissal of two senior lecturers, UEW chapter president Dr Frimpong Kaakyire Duku and Professor Ephraim Avea Nsoh.

The V-C cited misconduct and insubordination among other reasons, for his action but the lecturers have denied any wrongdoing.
