Jubilee house sets the pace goes solar

President Akufo-Addo has announced that, the Jubilee House which is the seat of Ghana’s presidency, is scheduled to go solar from August this year, while delivering his third state of the nation address on Thursday, 21 February 2019.

The solar move, according to the president, is part of efforts to move the country from its overreliance on thermal energy production.
“The Jubilee House from August this year, will be powered by solar energy as an example to others,” the president announced.

As far as the country’s energy situation is concerned, Mr Akufo-Addo said both gas production and oil discovery have been on the rise under his watch.

“I’m pleased to announce that gas production tripled from 100m to 300m cubic feet in the last year.

“After many years of almost giving up, it took an NPP government to discover oil in Ghana. 13 oil blocks were signed under the NDC but not a single one was developed. The first one signed under my government has led to the second biggest oil discovery in Ghana”.
