‘Game Of Thrones’ fans discover Daenerys’ dragons aren’t actually dragons at all

Game Of Thrones fans have made a big realisation about Daenerys’ dragons ahead of season 8 – they’re not dragons at all.

Although the character, played by Emilia Clarke, is nicknamed the Mother Of Dragons, another moniker may actually be more accurate, as one Reddit user pointed out.

According to poster 4h0y1m4p1r4t3, there’s an anatomical issue with Daenerys’ fire-breathing beasts being labelled dragons. The creature is meant to have four legs and two wings, while a wyvern has two legs and two wings. Dany’s weyr only possess two, making them wyverns.

Clarke discussed the long-running series coming to an end in an interview earlier this year. “Everything feels more intense,” she said of filming the final episodes. “I had a scene with someone and I turned to him and said, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to do this ever again,’ and that brings tears to my eyes.”

Game Of Thrones will finish next year with its eighth season, which is due to premiere in April 2019. A handful of trailers have already been released, with the latest seeing fire and ice sweeping over Westeros.
